Paris, Tuesday, May 24: in the midst of the first summer heat wave, we meet at Studio Renoma to shoot the cover of the magazine you’re holding in your hands. It’s 5 p.m. and 33°C in the shade when Sacha and Marlon, the two men behind La Femme, arrive suitably dried out from a night of drinking. Guillaume Fédou, our deputy red’ chef, follows in their footsteps, shirt soaked and surfboard under his arm. ”  I’ve found a shortboard that’ s going to make a hell of a cover, guys! ” If the idea was a good one (Marlon and Sacha were born in Biarritz and were surfing the tubes long before they started composing them), it’s not going to work out so well. ” Less is more “, as Stéfanie Renoma teaches us with this magnificent cover. Our big surfing feature awaits you in the dry (pp. 40-55), as does the interview with La Femme’s two leading figures (pp. 6-8).

At ZEWEED, every issue we try to catch the wave before it’s too late. As we send this summer issue to press in the midst of the second heat wave, we’re delighted to highlight the surf lifestyle , a sport whose spirit and practice couldn’t be more in tune with our vision of a healthy, fun, sea, sex and sun lifestyle that’s as natural as it gets. Like hemp (this magazine’s DNA), which not only provides us with clothing (pp. 76-77), food (p. 84) and surfboards (p. 55), but is also an invaluable ally of nature, which we rediscover every summer, bringing us back to basics. This beautiful plant, which we must never mislead (see our article on synthetic cannabinoids, pp. 14-17), has finally been rehabilitated and is still revealing its secrets.

If La Femme is the future of man (and rock), hemp is the future of the planet.
