Faced with growing demand and an obvious shortage of the material, textile company Géochanvre has reorganized its production chain to offer French consumers a product that is 100% French and 100% eco-friendly. Our very good barrier-mask plan for the French drought.
Founded in 2014, Géochanvre specializes in the production of non-woven textiles: mulch for local authorities, bags and pouches for market gardeners.
It was under the impetus of Frédéric Roure, who very quickly sensed that demand for masks would be high, that the company acquired a new machine and reorganized its production line, for an investment of €200,000, the largest purchase made by the company in three years.
Today, Géochanvre produces between 150,000 and 200,000 masks a week.
Manufactured in France using exclusively French products (a highly commendable policy at a time when we need to refocus our activities to reduce our dependence on international trade flows), Geochanvre masks are made from environmentally-friendly filtering felt and two comfort foams (nose and neck). Stamped “UNS category 2 professional quality” by the Direction Générale de l’Armement, Géochanvre masks are also 100% recyclable, unlike “conventional” masks which are largely made of plastic. A significant plus, at a time when the COVID-19 crisis is prompting us to rethink our relationship with the planet.

Sold at the low price of 80 centimes each, Géochanvre masks are available here:https://www.geochanvre.fr/masque/
